About The Circle of the Dark Mother
The Circle is a framework of spiritual teachings and practices that are used by individuals for their personal path. There is no dogma or specific requirements in the Circle of the Dark Mother (other than to be kind to others and respectful of all beliefs). We are a Dark Gnostic tradition that uses both gnosis and reason to direct our path. We use meditation and a kabbalistic framework in much of our workings Every practitioner has the freedom to use the tradition however they choose. We embrace every spiritual path as valid and able to be incorporated into our teachings.
When deciding on a name we wanted to capture the idea of people who are equals coming together to study and practice for transformation in both themselves and the world. We chose Circle of the Dark Mother because dark mother deities represent the power of change. Circulos Tenebris Matrem Arcanas means Circle of the Dark and Mysterious Mother - this is our Inner Order of the group.

Mark H. Williams
Mark H. Williams is consecrated as a Bishop in the Independent and Gnostic movement and holds a Masters in Theology as well as a certificate in Transformative Coaching. Richard Crow
Richard Crow has been captivated by magick and sorcery since childhood. As the grandson of a conjure worker, he has explored the realms of spirits and community work, broadening his horizons through encounters with remarkable individuals and participation in various spiritual knowledge-seeking groups. Richard is committed to proof-based magick, embracing study, shadow work, and real-world action. Richard was consecrated as a Bishop and has worked in this tradition for the last 7 years. On January 3, 2025, he took on holy orders with Mark and was passed to the bishop and lineage holder in the Circulos Tenebris Matrem Arcanas tradition (Circle of the Dark Mother). Richard has provided comprehensive support in grimoire magic, including one-on-one mentorship, consultations, and spiritual guidance. His services also include divination and spell craft. Holley Stevens is a 37-year-old spiritual practitioner, SUD counselor, and lifelong seeker devoted to the sacred work of healing, shadow integration, and spiritual ascension. Mike Stevens
Mike Stevens is a 37-year-old (2025) spiritual practitioner, martial artist, veteran, and student of the esoteric arts. Mike’s path has unfolded through over a decade of Kung Fu training, where he learned not only discipline of the body but also the subtle art of chi manipulation - bridging physical mastery with energetic awareness. For the past five years, he have been an initiate in the Etruscan Dianic Hektite tradition of Wicca, a lineage that honors the sacred feminine, elemental forces, and the ancient mysteries of the earth. Alongside this, Mike has immersed himself in two years of Gnostic Kabbalah study, working deeply with the Tree of Life to elevate consciousness and commune with the Divine. As a Freemason for three years, he has embraced the symbolism and ritual of the Craft, exploring the architecture of the soul and the hidden geometries of the universe. Mike’s magical practice is rooted in shadow work, spiritual alchemy, and deep inner transformation. Mike uses magic not for control, but for alignment - with his Higher Self, the natural world, and the greater cosmic design. Names
Circle of the Dark Mother's inner order is C1irculos Tenebris Matrem Arcanas (CTMA for short) means Circle of the Dark and Mysterious Mother. We chose a name that fits the intent of our lineage, but realize it's a bit of a mouthful.
Membership
Membership is completely free. Anyone who wants to be part of the lineage can email our High Priest (Mark H. Williams) and declare their intent. At that point a person is considered an associate member. Once someone takes the online course they become an initiate of the Tradition.​​
